Introduction of Urahoro:
Urahoro is a little town located in the Tokachi region of Eastern Hokkaido. The Tokachi region is famous for its dairy farming as it accounts for the majority of fresh milk produced in the entire Hokkaido. It is also rich in farming, fishing and forestry resources. However, like many other towns in Hokkaido, Urahoro is rapidly declining in terms of population and economy. In order to instill hometown pride and innovation into the local children, Urahoro integrates its primary industries into the elementary and middle school curriculum, so that children growing up in the town feel a sense of belonging and connection to the town and its industries.
